Summer Skin Spray

Image
This little bottle has been sitting on a shelf by my desk for a couple of years! I made it at one of the first Make & Take classes I hosted for Young Living, since then apparently I haven't sat out in the sun long enough to need it or remember it. But today we filled the boys pool and I sat outside with them for several hours and that is about an hour and a half too long for my fair skin.  This magic potion is MAGIC, it isn't the prettiest bottle on my shelf, my label making skills have vastly improved since those early days but I am thinking it might be one of the best sprays I have made! Even when I don't "need" it anymore I will probably continue to use it this summer and the rest of the year, going back and reading the recipe I had not only forgot that I made this but also all of the benefits of the oils and rose water that are in it. It is so soothing and hydrating, supports healthy looking skin all year long. The peppermint people, the peppermint is m...

Hair! But so much more

I had been researching Essential Oils for hair like a crazy person because after my bout with meningitis and sepsis in November of 2014 I was home recovering and just when I thought the scary event was in my rear view mirror I noticed that my hair was falling out. It started slowly I really didn't think anything of it and then it got worse. Anytime I ran my fingers through my hair I would get dozens of strands. In the shower it was really noticeable whole chunks were falling out. So beyond the practical thought of "I don't want to go bald" there was a deeper issue, I could not get past the grip of fear that meningitis had on me. I was so afraid of it happening again. There had been no warning I went to bed healthy and by the middle of the night I knew I was sicker than I had ever been in my life. I ended up in the emergency room in a scene from an ER tv show! They did 2 spinal taps and determined I had meningitis and even though I had heard of it and knew it was bad...

With 2 of his amazing teachers!  Today was Ethan's last day of first grade! This was his first year fully in a general education setting and he rocked it out! I am so proud of him and how far he has come. We still have a ways to go but I know that he will get there. I don't know if any of you are familiar with the ATEC test from the Autism Research Institute  https://www.autism.com/ind_atec   ATEC stands for "Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist" it is a test that anyone can use online to track the following areas: The ATEC is a one-page form designed to be completed by parents, teachers, or caretakers. It consists of 4 subtests: I. Speech/Language Communication (14 items); II. Sociability (20 items); III. Sensory/ Cognitive Awareness (18 items); and IV. Health/Physical/Behavior (25 items I have been...

Toxin Free Home - Air Freshners

Image
I have a class coming up that focuses on getting the toxins out of your home, so todays post is about Air freshener sprays, it is one of the biggest ways we poison our families without even knowing it! More studies are being done everyday and we learn more and more about the toxins hidden in our everyday products.  Diffusing essential oils is a much better option!  Or make your own room spray using the following base recipe and any of these suggested oil combination, or make up one of your own! You really can't do it wrong.  Approx 4oz Distilled Water or Reverse Osmosis 2tsp Witch Hazel or Vodka – Either of these will act to disperse the essential oils into the water better. For personal use sprays (like hair or body spray) I use witch hazel, as the vodka can be drying and harsh on the skin Essential Oils – The possibilities are endless 4 oz Glass Spray Bottle – I buy them from abundanthealth4u.com  Time to study AIR FRESH...

Whole 30 on Monday!

Getting ready to start another whole 30 on Monday, this will be my second! I am nervous, I was the first time too so I know I can do it and I know it will be so great for me! I just have to psych myself up to get ready!! One of the tools that will help me is a website called Plan To Eat  The best tool for importing recipes automatically from any website or blog! Meal planning and then it creates your shopping list that you can also see on your cell phone so while in the store you just click each item as you put it in the card and it disappears from the list!!! I will save you money by allowing you to easily plan and shop and not buy extra stuff. My favorite part is the recipe importer! Use this link to try it for 30 days free!  https://www.plantoeat.com/ref/134fc605ab I am going to try and blog everyday for accountability and also to share the recipes I find and enjoy a long the way. If you are on plan to eat you can go to my Whole 30 category and see the re...
